Power Factors alternatives for development-stage portfolios
Power Factors is built for the operating fleet: monitoring, performance, compliance, contracts and invoicing once plants produce. Its commercial asset management has been used to track a development pipeline, but the product's centre of gravity is after COD. Navorda's is before it — permits, land, baselines, risk and ownership while the project is still being made, reported upstream from the same governed record.
What Unity (formerly BluePoint) does
Power Factors describes Unity as "Renewable Energy Management Software" that "brings agentic optimization to renewable energy portfolios", with modules for SCADA, power plant control, energy management, asset performance management, field service and commercial asset management, "600+ global customers" and "25+ years of proven expertise". Commercial asset management — Asset Oversight and Invoice Management — offers a "portfolio-level view of assets to provide a comprehensive system of record": secure contract storage with bulk import, plant-to-contract drilldowns, recurring compliance tasks, approvals and obligations with audit-ready logs, invoicing from contract-linked rates and escalation schedules, warranty and insurance claim management, and bi-directional API integration with ERP and financial systems. BluePoint, the commercial asset management product Power Factors acquired with 3megawatt, was adopted by Vesper Energy in April 2022 "to track the progress and milestones of its 1.3GW solar and storage development pipeline in the United States", with invoicing for future PPA contracts once the assets operate; the current product pages do not describe development-stage tracking and no longer use the BluePoint name.

| Dimension | Power Factors | Navorda |
|---|---|---|
| Primary design goal | Operating renewable assets: availability, yield, compliance, contracts and invoicing across mixed fleets and OEMs. | Development control before COD — land, permitting, risk and ownership for energy projects, in one governed model. |
| Development pipeline | A use case rather than a module: Vesper Energy adopted BluePoint in 2022 to track milestones across a 1.3 GW development pipeline; the current Unity pages describe compliance milestones, not development ones. | The product itself: milestone progression per permit and plot, dependencies across plants, lines and substations, and versioned baselines with measured deviation. |
| Land and cadastre | Not described in the vendor's public material. | Native geospatial stack — PostGIS and MapLibre — with Spanish Catastro GML parsed on upload: geometry, cadastral reference, area and reference point extracted automatically, no GIS analyst required; generic geospatial import elsewhere. |
| Permitting | Regulatory and contractual compliance tasks, approvals and obligations with audit-ready logs. | Administrative processes modelled per country and technology, with milestone progression and deviation measured against approved baselines. |
| Schedule baselines | Not described in the vendor's public material. | Versioned approved baselines with live deviation tracking, and scenario planning that leaves the baseline intact. |
| Risk | Commercial event logging — outages, accidents, curtailments — with warranty and insurance claim management. | Time-at-risk and cost-at-risk quantified before and after mitigation, aggregated across the portfolio. |
| Ownership and transactions | Not described in the vendor's public material. | SPVs and holding structures modelled natively; SPA execution updates the cap table automatically. |
| Finance and invoicing | Invoicing from contract-linked rates and escalation schedules; invoices, settlements and statements pushed to ERP and accounting platforms. | Navorda Finance posts project-level financial context — forecasts, commitments and Funding Status stages — against milestones and permits, and complements the ERP; invoicing, payments and the ledger stay there. |
| Offtake | Contract storage and invoicing in the operating phase; the Vesper release names invoicing for future PPA contracts. | Navorda Offtake governs PPAs and offtake commitments against the projects that supply them while they are developed — no settlement, metering or dispatch. |
| Scale and geography | "600+ global customers"; logos shown include Repsol, Lightsource bp, Engie and Canadian Solar; Origis Energy cites 4.6 GW of solar and storage on Unity. | European multi-country portfolios; 300+ projects managed across 14+ countries. |
| AI | REMI, the "Renewable Energy Management Intelligence" layer, and "agentic optimization" for operating portfolios. | Navorda AI (seven agents running inside Navorda on governed data), plus the Navorda MCP Connector — a native MCP server — so Claude, ChatGPT or Cursor can query the portfolio live and read-only. |
| Certifications | Not stated on the pages reviewed. | AWS-native architecture with SSO, RBAC and audit trails; ISO 27001 and SOC 2 are in progress, not yet completed. Current status on the security page → |

Which one you should actually buy
We would rather you rule Navorda out in five minutes than discover the mismatch in month four.
Choose Power Factors if…
- Your portfolio is operating and the job is availability, yield, SCADA, power plant control and performance across a mixed-OEM fleet.
- Contract-linked invoicing, settlements and ERP posting for operating plants are the core requirement.
- You want one vendor from COD onward — monitoring, field service, compliance and commercial management in one suite.
- Scale and reference base matter: a vendor with hundreds of global customers and the operating logos to show for it.
- You are tracking a development pipeline lightly and would rather extend the system you will run the plants on than add a development platform.
Choose Navorda if…
- Your bottleneck is before COD: land not secured, permits slipping against baseline, ownership structures changing as projects are financed and sold.
- Permitting has to be modelled per European jurisdiction rather than tracked as compliance tasks.
- Land is a live securization ledger — plots, counterparts, contracts, Catastro parcels — not a document attached to an asset record.
- You need risk in days and euros, and baselines that show what moved, who moved it and why.
- SPVs, holding structures and SPAs are part of how the portfolio is run during development.
- You want your own AI assistant to query development reality through MCP, read-only, with governed context.
Other Power Factors alternatives worth considering
Navorda is one answer, not the only one. Depending on where your bottleneck sits, these also belong on the shortlist.
