IFS Land for Renewables and iLandMan alternatives

IFS Land for Renewables is a land and obligation module that is strongest when it sits inside an estate you already run. Navorda is a standalone development platform that coexists with your ERP — including IFS or SAP — and owns the development-lifecycle layer that ERPs were never built for.

    What Land for Renewables does

IFS Land for Renewables is described by IFS as a centralized platform for managing renewable energy land assets, from site acquisition and permitting through lease management and regulatory compliance. It includes obligation tracking through an eCalendar for contract expirations, lease obligations and key events, with automated alerts and review workflows; it aims to remove spreadsheets and manual workflows by automating lease tracking, ownership transfers and compliance tasks; and it emphasises rapid deployment and integration with IFS's own solutions and selected third-party systems. IFS is a large established enterprise software vendor whose principal business is ERP, EAM and field service management.

Which one you should actually buy

We would rather you rule Navorda out in five minutes than discover the mismatch in month four.

    Choose IFS if…

    • You already run IFS for ERP, EAM or field service and want land managed inside the same estate with one vendor relationship and one support contract.
    • Consolidating vendors is an explicit strategic objective and a single large supplier is worth more than best-of-breed depth.
    • Your requirement is genuinely land and obligation tracking, and permitting schedule control is handled well elsewhere.
    • You need the surrounding enterprise capability — asset management, maintenance, field service — as part of the same platform.
    • Procurement requires a vendor of IFS's scale, with the certifications and financial stability that come with it.
    • You are coming from the oil-and-gas side and iLandMan's lease, tract and formation land model is what your landmen already know.

    Choose Navorda if…

    • You do not run IFS, and adopting an ERP module means buying into an estate you otherwise have no reason to.
    • Permitting schedule control against approved baselines is the actual problem, not obligation reminders.
    • You need risk quantified in days and euros for an investment committee.
    • You work across European jurisdictions with different permitting regimes and cadastral systems.
    • SPVs, shareholder structures and SPAs are central to how the portfolio is owned and reported.
    • You want to be live in weeks on one workflow rather than scoping an enterprise deployment.

    Frequently asked questions

Yes, particularly if you do not already run IFS. Navorda is a standalone platform covering land, permitting, milestones, risk, SPAs and portfolio reporting, and it coexists with whatever ERP you have — including IFS and SAP. If you already run IFS and want land inside that estate, IFS Land for Renewables is the lower-friction choice.

No. Navorda works alongside existing SAP, IFS, finance ERPs and BI stacks. It owns the development-lifecycle layer — land, permits, baselines, risk, ownership and project-level financial context — that ERPs were never designed for, and leaves accounting, invoicing, payments and treasury where they already are.

Obligation reminders tell you a date is approaching. Navorda additionally tells you whether the project is deviating from its approved baseline, by how much, what is causing it, how much schedule and money is at risk before and after mitigation, and how that aggregates across the portfolio. That is the difference between a calendar and schedule control.

They come from the same vendor. iLandMan is the lease and land management system that P2 Energy Solutions bought in 2018 and that IFS acquired with P2 in November 2022; IFS presents it as a cloud, tract and formation-based system for the exploration-and-production land life cycle — leases, obligations and payments. IFS presents its renewables land management on its own page, and the two are not described as one product. Whichever IFS land product you are weighing, the comparison with Navorda is the same: an obligation ledger inside an ERP estate versus a standalone development platform that keeps permits, land, baselines, risk and ownership in one governed model for European portfolios.
