    Comparison

    QBi Solutions alternatives

QBi and Navorda are the two Spanish platforms a serious Iberian developer will shortlist, and they answer different questions. QBi is business-management breadth: one system from business development and M&A through construction into operation, with financial operations and SCADA analytics built in. Navorda is development-governance depth: whether each project reaches ready-to-build on time, proven against versioned baselines, with risk in days and euros, native cadastral geospatial, and ownership that updates when SPAs execute.

    What QBi does

QBi Solutions describes itself as "Business Management Software for renewable energy companies" — specialized SaaS built "by renewable specialists, for renewable specialists", operated from Madrid and New York. The platform spans four lifecycle phases: Business Development and M&A, Project Development, Engineering, Procurement and Construction, and Operation. Capabilities include project management, land plot management, claims and risk features, automated invoicing for energy and leases integrating tariffs and PPAs, automated P&L and balance-sheet reporting, and technical analytics fed by daily SCADA updates. QBi cites 45+ integrations (SCADA/DAS, SAP, Yardi, CMMS, cloud storage), per-technology workflows for SolarPV, battery storage, wind, biogas, EV charging and green hydrogen, a single-tenant architecture on Microsoft Azure, and states it is on track to achieve ISO 27001 certification.

Shape of the productBusiness management software for renewable companies — data and processes for the whole business on one platform.A development-governance platform — the project, ownership and commitment layer: land, permits, milestones and construction baselines, risks, ownership, offtake and project finance.
Lifecycle spanFour phases end to end: business development and M&A, project development, EPC, and operation.Governs development, construction commitments (NtP, COD, PAC baselines), transactions and offtake as one layer; post-COD asset operations — SCADA analytics, invoicing, settlement — stay in your operations stack.
LandLand plot management to organise land-related information, with lease invoicing handled in the financial module.Land as a governed geospatial layer: plots with cadastral geometry on a native PostGIS/MapLibre map, Spanish Catastro GML parsed on upload, five securement mechanisms with milestone progressions, counterpart negotiation history.
Permitting and baselinesProject management with per-technology workflows, configurable by country and state.Permitting processes modelled per country and technology, tracked against versioned approved baselines — deviation is measured, and every date change keeps its author, timestamp and previous value.
RiskClaims and risk management features within the platform.Risk quantified as time-at-risk and cost-at-risk — days and euros, before and after mitigation — aggregated across the portfolio (Navorda Risks, an optional add-on).
Financial operationsA core strength: automated invoicing for energy and leases integrating complex tariffs and PPAs, automated P&L and balance-sheet reports. Not an accounting system by design. Navorda Finance records project-level costs, revenues, forecasts and commitments against projects, milestones and reporting versions; invoicing, billing, settlement, P&L and balance-sheet reporting stay in your finance ERP and BI stack.
Operating assetsTechnical analytics with daily SCADA updates; measure technical and financial performance of the operating fleet. Not Navorda's ground — post-COD performance monitoring belongs to your SCADA/asset-management tools.
Ownership and transactionsBusiness development and M&A phase support.SPVs and holding structures modelled in Navorda Transactions (add-on) with equity and voting rights; executing an SPA updates the shareholder structure automatically.
AI accessDynamic BI and configurable reporting.Navorda AI (optional: seven agents running inside Navorda on governed data), plus the Navorda MCP Connector — included in Navorda Platform, a native MCP server — so Claude, ChatGPT or Cursor can query the portfolio live — read-only, OAuth 2.1, landowner PII structurally excluded.
Platform and certificationsSingle-tenant on Microsoft Azure; 45+ integrations (SCADA/DAS, SAP, Yardi, CMMS); states it is on track to achieve ISO 27001.Multi-tenant AWS-native in AWS EU (Frankfurt); SSO with Microsoft Entra ID and Google, RBAC, audit trails; ISO 27001 and SOC 2 in progress — neither vendor holds a completed certification today. Which one you should actually buy

We would rather you rule Navorda out in five minutes than discover the mismatch in month four.

    Choose QBi if…

    • You want one system for the whole business — development, construction, operation and M&A — rather than a dedicated development platform beside your operations stack.
    • A large share of your portfolio is already operating, and SCADA-fed technical analytics plus financial performance of the fleet are core requirements.
    • Automated energy and lease invoicing with complex tariffs, and automated P&L reporting, are decisive — Navorda governs offtake agreements as commitments but deliberately does no invoicing, settlement or P&L.
    • Your integration list is long and specific: SAP, Yardi, CMMS, SCADA/DAS — QBi cites 45+ integrations.
    • You prefer single-tenant architecture on Microsoft Azure.
    • Biogas or EV charging are significant in your mix — QBi lists dedicated workflows for both.

    Choose Navorda if…

    • Your bottleneck is pre-construction: land not secured, permits drifting, and no way to prove when a date moved, who moved it, and what it costs.
    • You need versioned approved baselines with measured deviation — schedule control, not schedule display.
    • Cadastral work is daily reality and you need Catastro GML parsed on upload, on a native map, without a GIS analyst in the loop.
    • Risk must reach the investment committee in days and euros, before and after mitigation.
    • SPVs, shareholder structures and SPAs are first-class objects in how you run and report the portfolio.
    • You want PPAs and offtake agreements recorded against the projects that supply them, so contracted capacity sits beside the permits and land it depends on.
    • You want your own AI assistant querying the portfolio through MCP — read-only and OAuth-secured.
    • You want to go live on one workflow in four to eight weeks and expand from there.

    Frequently asked questions

For development-stage governance, yes — and the two are complementary in shape. QBi is business management software spanning business development and M&A, project development, EPC and operation, with financial operations and SCADA analytics built in. Navorda concentrates on the pre-construction lifecycle: land securement on a native map, permitting against versioned baselines, risk in days and euros, and SPV/SPA structures. Developers whose pain is reaching ready-to-build on time and proving what changed will find Navorda deeper on exactly that; companies wanting one platform for the whole business including the operating fleet will find QBi broader.

Span versus depth. QBi runs the full asset lifecycle as one business-management platform — including automated invoicing, P&L reporting and technical analytics on operating assets. Navorda is a development platform: versioned baselines with measured deviation, quantified schedule and cost risk, native cadastral geospatial, and ownership structures that update when SPAs execute. Navorda deliberately leaves accounting and post-COD performance monitoring to the systems that already do them.

Run both against your real portfolio, because the choice depends on where your operational pain sits. If it is in the development funnel — land, permits, baselines, exposure before ready-to-build — evaluate Navorda first. If it is in running the whole company on one system, including operating assets and financial operations, evaluate QBi first. On certifications the two are at parity today: QBi states ISO 27001 is on track; Navorda's ISO 27001 and SOC 2 are in progress.

Not in the same way. Navorda models transactions and ownership (SPAs, SPVs, holding structures) as part of development governance, and projects carry their full history into construction and operation. Navorda also governs offtake agreements — PPAs and other structures recorded against the project that supplies them. But it is not an asset-management or financial-operations system, and not an ETRM — no SCADA analytics, no invoicing, no P&L, no settlement or trading. If those are requirements, QBi or a dedicated asset-management stack covers ground Navorda deliberately does not.
