    Glint Solar alternatives

Glint Solar is strongest at the front of the funnel: finding, screening and designing sites, and keeping a live view of where the pipeline stands. Navorda picks up once a site becomes a project that has to be governed — permits modelled per jurisdiction against approved baselines, land as a securization ledger with contracts and obligations, risk in days and euros, SPVs and SPAs — and reports that reality upstream. Many developers would use both.

    What Glint Solar does

Glint Solar calls itself "The Platform for Renewable Energy Development" — "one unified workspace for all your utility-scale PV, BESS, and Hybrid development projects". Its modules cover land screening across large areas, preliminary yield and feasibility assessment, GIS-integrated layout design with multiple scenarios, storage design comparison, noise and visual modelling with 3D views and AI renders for landowner and community engagement, Site Control (a parcel's negotiation status updates the layout live; landowner, grid and municipality contacts reusable across projects; agreements, grid offers and planning documents attached to comments), Dashboards — formerly called Charts — showing project count and capacity by stage, region, owner and custom properties for teams, leads and executives, a Project API and Glint AI for "repetitive design work". Headquartered in Oslo with localised sites for Italy, Germany, France and the USA, it shows Statkraft, Recurrent Energy, Alight, Enery, TotalEnergies, ILOS and Photosol among its customers; pricing is by package, driven by "the number of users and other variables", with no limits on project count or size and no published figures.

Primary objectThe site and its layout: screening, yield, design scenarios and parcel negotiation status, with the pipeline reported on top.The project. Land agreements, permits, milestones, risks and ownership connected in one model, with land as one governed layer of it.
Market focusUtility-scale PV, BESS and hybrid developers in Europe and the US; localised sites for Italy, Germany and France.European multi-country portfolios; 300+ projects managed across 14+ countries.
Site screening and designCore strength: land screening across large areas, preliminary yield and feasibility, GIS layout design, storage comparison, noise and visual modelling. Not a design tool. Navorda governs the project once a site is chosen; layouts and yield models stay in the specialist tools, and their critical outputs can be registered through External Models Governance.
Land and cadastreSite Control: parcel negotiation status that updates the layout live, colour-coded land control on the map, contacts reusable across projects. No lease, obligation or payment tracking is described, and no cadastral sources are named.Navorda Land: plots, counterparts and securement mechanisms (lease, surface right, purchase, expropriation, concession) as first-class objects with contracts, rights and obligations, on a native map with Spanish Catastro GML parsed on upload.
Pipeline reportingDashboards: project count and capacity by stage, region, owner and custom properties, with role-based views for developers, team leads and executives.Portfolio reporting from the governed record, with versioned baselines so the view shows not only where projects stand but what moved, who changed it and when — and Navorda Connect for Power BI.
PermittingA pipeline stage, with filters for high-risk projects in permitting; no permit-milestone tracking against baselines is described.Administrative processes modelled per country and technology, with milestone progression and deviation measured against approved baselines.
Schedule baselinesNot described in the vendor's public material.Versioned approved baselines with live deviation tracking, and scenario planning that leaves the baseline intact.
RiskHigh-risk projects can be filtered and stuck projects escalated; no quantified risk register is described.Time-at-risk and cost-at-risk quantified before and after mitigation, aggregated across the portfolio.
Ownership and transactionsNot described in the vendor's public material.SPVs and holding structures modelled natively; SPA execution updates the cap table automatically.
Finance contextInvestment-viability simulation for PV, BESS and hybrid designs.Navorda Finance posts project-level financial context — forecasts, commitments and Funding Status stages — against milestones and permits, and complements the ERP; invoicing, payments and the ledger stay there.
AI accessGlint AI automates repetitive design work; a Project API connects the workspace to other applications.Navorda AI (seven agents running inside Navorda on governed data), plus the Navorda MCP Connector — a native MCP server — so Claude, ChatGPT or Cursor can query the portfolio live and read-only.

Which one you should actually buy

We would rather you rule Navorda out in five minutes than discover the mismatch in month four.

    Choose Glint Solar if…

    • Your bottleneck is origination: screening large areas, qualifying sites and producing preliminary layouts and yield fast.
    • Preliminary PV, BESS and hybrid design — layouts, storage sizing, investment viability — is work you want inside the same workspace as the pipeline.
    • Landowner and community engagement needs visuals: 3D views, renders and noise modelling for the conversation before any contract exists.
    • A pipeline dashboard by stage, region and owner is the reporting you need today, and the projects are early enough that permits and contracts are not yet the problem.
    • You are a solar and storage developer, and a tool shaped for those technologies fits better than a multi-technology governance platform.

    Choose Navorda if…

    • Sites have become projects, and the problem is now permits slipping, land contracts and obligations, and ownership changing as projects are financed.
    • Permitting must be modelled per European jurisdiction and measured against approved baselines, not tracked as a stage.
    • Land is a securization ledger — plots, counterparts, contracts, rights, Catastro parcels — rather than a parcel status on a layout.
    • You need risk in days and euros and an audit trail of who changed a date and why.
    • The portfolio spans solar, wind, BESS, hydrogen and data center power, with SPVs and SPAs to govern.
    • You want your own AI assistant to query the governed development record through MCP.

Other Glint Solar alternatives worth considering

Navorda is one answer, not the only one. Depending on where your bottleneck sits, these also belong on the shortlist.

    • LandGate

US parcel data, grid intelligence and a land marketplace for siting and origination — complementary to Navorda more than competing.

    • Radian Digital

Radian Generation's lighter-weight platform for early-stage development: permitting, land acquisition and interconnection milestones.

    • Matidor

Map-based project management for geographically dispersed sites with significant field activity.

    Frequently asked questions

For governing projects once they exist, yes; for finding and designing sites, no. Glint Solar's strengths — land screening, preliminary layouts and yield, storage design, visual and noise modelling, a pipeline dashboard — sit before and around the point where Navorda starts: permits against approved baselines, land securization with contracts and obligations, quantified risk, SPVs and SPAs. Many developers would run Glint Solar for origination and Navorda for development governance.

No. Navorda is not a design or siting tool and does not compute yield or layouts. It governs the project after the site is chosen and lets the critical outputs of external models — including design and yield workbooks — be registered through External Models Governance, so the figures management relies on carry provenance.

Charts is the former name of Glint Solar Dashboards: a live pipeline view with project counts and capacity by stage, region, owner and custom properties, with role-based views for development teams, team leads and executives. It reports where projects stand; it does not describe baselines, permit milestones or a risk register, which is the ground Navorda covers.

Yes. Origination and preliminary design in Glint Solar, development governance in Navorda once a project is created, and Navorda Connect's REST API and Power BI semantic model to bring the governed record into corporate reporting. Neither vendor describes a built connector between the two today.
