Your Excel models, connected to your portfolio.
Keep specialist models. Govern what goes in — and what matters coming out.
Your financial models already live in Excel. Navorda does not replace them. It reads the results you care about straight from the workbook, keeps them next to the rest of the project data, and tells you when the model has fallen behind reality.
Same project reality. More specialist depth: keep specialist models connected to governed project reality, without creating another silo.
Last updated
Sound familiar?
Which version produced this number?
An assumption moves, CapEx changes, IRR changes, another version appears. The figure in the board pack was retyped from one of them, and nobody can say which.
An input someone typed months ago
The number one reason an Excel model gives a wrong answer is not a broken formula. It is an assumption nobody updated when the project moved.
Returns computed on last year's schedule
The formulas still calculate perfectly. They are calculating the wrong reality, and the IRR they produce is reported as current.
Rebuilding the whole model inside the corporate system is digital micromanagement.
A model with thousands of formulas, scenarios and dependencies may be very good at what it does. The problem begins when it is disconnected from project reality, not when it lives in Excel. Once every new country, financing structure, technology or scenario requires software development, the corporate application becomes the constraint, and eventually someone opens Excel again. Govern the interface instead: what goes in, and what matters coming out.
Capture model outputs. No retyping.
Upload the workbook, point at the cell, done. Attach the project's financial model to the project, browse it inside Navorda sheet by sheet, and link the output cells you care about — CapEx, IRR, NPV or any other — to the matching Navorda field. The value flows in immediately.
Every linked figure carries its provenance: file, sheet, cell, who linked it and when. While a field is linked, nobody can overwrite it by hand, and when the next revision of the model arrives, Navorda re-points every link and shows you the before-and-after diff before anything is written.
Illustrative example for one project. Its financial model, Solar Alpha model version 17, assumes NtP on 15 March 2027 and 100 MW of capacity, and calculates a CapEx of 62.4 million euros and an equity IRR of 8.4 percent. In Navorda the NtP milestone now reads 30 June 2027, so the project shows a model-outdated warning; the capacity still matches. The CapEx and IRR fields are linked to the workbook cells Outputs!C15 and Outputs!C18, carry their provenance — file, sheet, cell, who linked them and when — and are flagged as possibly stale because one assumption behind them no longer matches the project.
Illustrative example.
Know when the model is out of date.
The number one reason an Excel model gives a wrong answer is not a broken formula. It is an input someone typed months ago that nobody updated.
Pair the model's input cells — the NtP date, the MW, the CapEx assumption, the tariff — with the live Navorda fields they are supposed to reflect. Navorda stores what the model assumed and compares it with what is true today, every time you open the project. When they diverge, the project shows a model-outdated warning, and the outputs that came out of the same workbook are flagged as well.
A check only reads and compares. It never writes into the model or into Navorda. The warning is the product.
Capture what comes out. Check what goes in.
Upload the workbook, point at the cell, done
Attach the project's financial model (.xlsx or .xlsm) to the project and browse it inside Navorda, sheet by sheet, formula bar included. Pick the CapEx, IRR, NPV, or any other output cell and link it to the matching Navorda field. The value flows in immediately.
Values that carry their own provenance
Every linked figure shows where it came from: file, sheet, cell, who linked it and when. No more "which version of the model did this number come from?"
Read-only by design
While a field is linked to the model, nobody can overwrite it by hand. The model is the single source of truth for that number until you decide to unlink it.
New revision of the model? Refresh in one click
Upload the next version of the workbook and Navorda re-points every link to the new file, shows you a before-and-after diff of every value that would change, and lets you preview it before anything is written.
Consistent across reporting cycles
Linked values travel with your locked data snapshots, so a quarter closed six months ago still shows exactly the numbers the model produced at the time.
Track the assumptions, not just the outputs
Pair the model's input cells (the NtP date, the MW, the CapEx assumption, the tariff) with the live Navorda fields they are supposed to reflect. Navorda stores what the model assumed and compares it with what is true today, every time you open the project.
A clear warning the moment they diverge
When a project milestone moves in Navorda but the model still carries the old date, the project shows a "model outdated" warning: on the Excel tab, on the affected field, and on every output value that came from that model. You see the assumed value and the current value side by side, with a one-click jump to the exact cell. If an input is outdated, the IRR and NPV from the same workbook are probably stale as well, so Navorda marks them and nobody reports a return computed on last year's schedule.
Checks never touch your data
A check only reads and compares. It will never write into the model or into Navorda. The warning is the product.
Smart comparison, no false alarms
Dates match on the day, amounts within rounding tolerance, text regardless of case and spacing. You get warned about real drift, not Excel float noise.
Built for how teams actually work.
External Models Governance works with the Excel files you already have and stays out of the way until you need it.
- Works with the Excel files you already have. No add-ins, no templates, no macros to install.
- Every upload, link, refresh, and re-point is audited and can carry a comment explaining why.
- Nothing loads until you open the Excel tab, so project pages stay fast even with large models.
- Locked reporting snapshots are protected: a model that a closed period depends on cannot be deleted.
What teams can now answer
- Which version of the model produced the IRR in last quarter's board pack?
- Which of the model's input dates no longer match the project schedule?
- Who last changed the CapEx assumption, and when?
- Which reported returns were computed on a schedule that has since moved?
How it works
Upload the project's workbook
Navorda parses it once and stores a snapshot, so browsing is instant and the original file is never touched.
Link outputs, add checks on inputs
Choose the cells whose results should appear in Navorda; values sync immediately and stay read-only while linked. Pair the model's assumption cells with the Navorda fields they should mirror.
Keep working
As projects evolve, Navorda tells you when the model needs a refresh and, when you upload the new version, shows you exactly what changes.
An add-on to Navorda Platform, connected to the rest
Navorda works with the Excel files you already have — no add-ins, no templates, no macros to install. The model stays the specialist calculation engine; Navorda governs what goes in and what matters coming out.
Keep specialist models. Govern what goes in — and what matters coming out.
Navorda does not overwrite the model and does not reproduce its formulas. The model remains the specialist calculation engine; Navorda governs the interface between the model and project reality.
External Models Governance governs
- Which workbook version is authoritative for each project
- Which cell produced each governed figure: file, sheet, cell, who linked it and when
- Whether the model's key assumptions still match the project: NtP, capacity, CapEx, tariff
- When a linked output changed, and what it was in every locked reporting snapshot
- Which value became the corporate commitment
Your model keeps governing
- The formulas, scenarios and sensitivities
- Financing structures and country-specific logic
- New technologies and scenarios, with no software development needed to add one
- The calculation itself: Navorda reads results, it never computes them
Govern outcomes without micromanaging execution.
